Department: Psychiatry - General - 412202 Position Summary: Board-eligible or board-certified psychiatrists who are licensed in North Carolina are needed to provide psychiatric consultation as part of the UNC Health Acute Tele psychiatry Service. These individuals will provide virtual consultation to patients of all ages located in emergency departments and inpatient medical/surgical hospitals within the UNC Health system. Services can be delivered from any location within North Carolina. The purpose of the position is to support services delivered on weeknights, weekends, and holidays. The position is within the UNC Department of Psychiatry and will report directly to the Medical Director of the Acute Tele psychiatry Service and the Associate vice Chair of Virtual and Integrated Care in the Department. We foster programs in the areas of basic, translational, mechanistic and population research. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. Must be Board-eligible or board-certified in psychiatry. Must be licensed to practice medicine in North Carolina. Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience: Previous experience in telepsychiatry, emergency psychiatry evaluation, and inpatient psychiatry consultation.
